Demand to recall the students from the covid ward

In the midst of the strike by nursing staff, the students of the nursing college at Sayaji Hospital were sent for duty in the covid ward. This irked the protesting nurses and they raised slogans against the principal of the college Bhartibahen Sanadia. They demanded that the students must be recalled from the covid ward.

Sheetal Rajput, a leader of the Nursing Association, said, the strike was on with the continuation of all services except the treatment of Covid patients by the nursing staff. In the morning, Bharti Sanadia, Principal of the College of Nursing, assured the Nursing Association that the Nursing Students are with them.

However about 50 students were sent to covid ward duty and they protesting the decision. They reached the college and raised slogans against the principal. They said will not leave the college until nursing students are recalled from the Covid ward.

It is to be mentioned that the working of Sayaji Hospital is being affected as the nursing staff went on strike, in particular the covid patients under treatment. Nursing staff are trying to persuade hospital authorities in wake of the strike.

As the nurses stay away from covid work, OSD Dr. Vinod Rao also rushed to the hospital and tried to persuade them. However, the Nursing Staff Association, which are in a fighting mood continued the strike with the firm intention that it would not end until the issues were resolved.
