Ashokraje Gaekwad School and Devyaniraje Gaekwad School, Vadodara celebrate
Uttarayan Festival with zeal and enthusiasm in a traditional way. Students and
teachers dressed traditionally celebrate the festival and gives the message of
safe Uttarayan.

Like every year the school celebrate the hugely popular Uttarayan festival with great enthusiasm. Around 1500 students and 100 teachers together celebrate the festival, the way it is celebrated in various States of India and abroad. The celebration took everyone to different parts of the country and feel the essence of the state.

Like in
Southern India it is celebrating as Pongal, Western India as Uttarayan, Eastern
India as Bihu and Northern India as Lohri along with other countries of world
as vernal equinox in Japan, Balloon festival in Australia and others. Students
and teachers dressed traditionally as per the state and gives a glimpse of the
celebration.

The festival
is dangerous for birds as they entangled in the deadly strings made from
Chinese thread. The school taking a responsibility towards it and sensitise the
students to celebrate safe uttarayan like Not to use chinese thread, save birds
and don’t harm anyone.

Festivals
form the fulcrum on which astronomical, sociological, economic, religious and
spiritual implications hinge on. This is the case with reference to different
festivals all over the world. Uttarayan is one such festival of worldwide
significance with all the facets of any festival such as astronomical,
sociological, economic, religious and spiritual.
