Teachers and staff pulled the rath with safety measures

Continuing the tradition Prince Ashokaraje Gaekwad school Vadodara organised the Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra from Shree temple and Dhairya prasad palace. However this time the kids are missing due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the rath was pulled by the teachers and staff.

This year due to Coronavirus, Rathyatra is not allowed at many places in the country and across the world. The annual event which attracts devotees from all across the world every year is low key affair this time due to the virus. However many of them still organise the rathyatra and continue the tradition while maintaining the Covid guidelines.

Prince Ashokaraje School continue it’s tradition and organise the event with the teachers and staff. Wearing masks and maintain social distancing they perform pooja of the daities and then pulled the rath starting from Shree Mandir. Every year children pulled the Lord Jagannath, Balbhadra and Devi Subhadra rath with great enthusiasm.

Every year little Students of Prince Ashokaraje Gaekwad School pulled the rath of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Bhagwan Balram inside the school compound. The students dressed in traditional dress chants the slogans of Hari Bol and pulled the Rath of daieties with equal enthusiasm.

This is probably the only school in Vadodara where the little children pulled the Rath on the ocassion of Rathayatra. However this time the children the missing from the rathyatra celebrations.

The temple of Lord Jagannath in the school campus is a mini replica of the great Jagannath temple of Puri. As the main temple at Puri was allowed to organise the rathyatra in Corona scare, the school also observed the same and celebrate the occasion with safety measures. This year it’s the 19th Rathyatra of the school.
