Police detained PAAS members in Vadodara during one day token strike

Detained around 40 supporters of PAAS and Congress

Police detained the PAAS members in Vadodara after they tried to sit on token strike in support of Hardik Patel. The supporters sit for some time but later police detained them as they don’t have any police permission. They also clashed with the police but was controlled later.

PAAS leader Hardik Patel is on hunger strike for the past 11 days demanding loan waiver for farmers, quota for Patidars in goverment jobs and education. Many leaders meet him during the fast along with supporters visit him regularly. PAAS members also extend their support to him and organise programmes in their areas.

In support the Vadodara PAAS members decide to organise one day token strike at wadi in Nagarwada from 10 to 5 pm. Members in big numbers reached the venue along with the Congress supporters to extend their support to Hardik Patel.

Police detained the PAAS and Congress members sit without any valid permission and took them to police headquarter. Among the detained are PAAS and Congress leaders Sanjay Patel, Harish Patel councillors Atul Patel, Jagrutiben Rana Congress leaders Jagdish Brahmbhatt and Lalit Patel along with many supporters.

The Congress supporters shouted slogans against the government after they were detained by the police. President Prashant Patel and leader of opposition Chandrakant Shrivastav also reached the spot after the news spread and they said it’s the against the democracy.

Congress leader Jagdish Brahmbhatt said they are with every agitation related to society and extend their support everytime. Congress stand with the truth and continue the same in future.
