According to
a report, the plea seeks directions to director Om Raut to not distort facts
about Tanhaji’s true lineage.

The Sangh’s
plea alleges that the film shows Tanhaji Malusare as belonging to the Maratha
community, while in reality he was a Kshatriya Mahadeo Koli.

They have
also sought a direction to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to
not grant a viewing certificate to the film unless the correct facts are shown.

The petition claims that the Koli community had sent many representations the CBFC to ensure the correct lineage of the warrior is shown, but the censor board didn’t take any action.

Earlier, Ajay Devgn took to Twitter to thank MNS for allowing Tanhaji to release simultaneously in Marathi and Hindi. The political party, which is known for opposing the release of Hindi films dubbed in Marathi, approved the Om Raut directorial saying that “it should be dubbed in as many languages as possible.”
