Decorated the lord with ornaments worth 55 lakhs
Ganeshotsav is being celebrated in Vadodara amidst fears of Coronavirus. People have also done lavish decorations in their homes to welcome the lord. Phulbaj family in Manjalpur area of the city installed a two feet statue of the lord a mirror image of the famous Lalbagh Ka Raja of Mumbai. They have decorated the idol of Ganapati with ornaments worth Rs 55 lakhs.
Ghanshyam Phulbaje said, Ganesha has been installed by their family for the last 25 years for five days. His mother and father earlier installed the Ganesha and for the last eight years he welcome the Lord at his house in Manjalpur. They have been installed Ganesh like the famous Lalbaug Ka Raja and adorns the lord with gold ornaments. Every year new jewellery are added for the decoration.
He further said, this time he has made a 250 gram gold foot and a 120 gram blessing hand paw, thus adding new ornament every year. Shreeji is adorned with ornaments including necklaces, crowns, side bands, bracelets, belts. The Lord was decorated with ornaments by his mother and the jewellery is worth around Rs 55 lakh.
Every year on the fifth day they bid farewell to the lord with a promise to visit again next year. Every year Mumbai’s famous Sonu Monu Beats band visit here and Sonu Monu has specially come to Vadodara for a special darshan. This time, due to the Covid 19 guidelines the immersion will be done with simplicity.
