One of the parent Megha Dave said, the Maharani English Medium School near Surasagar has increased fees by 10 per cent in times like the Corona pandemic. In addition fees is collected from the students during the online teaching.

The Corona time has affected the jobs of many parents and it is not appropriate to increase the fee by 10 per cent in such time, and even parents can’t afford a 10 percent fee increase. Secondly, the remaining fees are being collected by the teachers of the school while our children are studying online, which is not appropriate. Fees should be collected by calling the parents to school.

On Wednesday the parents gathered and submitted a written representation to the District Education Officer, In which they demand to withdraw the increase of 10 per cent fee made by the school.

They also request about their children not be asked for fees when teaching online. The parents also came a week ago but without any resolution they came again to represent their queries before the DEO.

In addition, admission process under RTE is going on by the District Education Officer’s Office. However the parents reached the office on Wednesday after their forms were cancelled. They shouted slogans against the process and represent their queries to the DEO.

One of the parent Kamlesh Makwana said, parents fill the online forms for the admissions under RTE but they were rejected due to the name of grandfather instead of father of the students on the residence proof documents. The name on the address proof is changed in one condition if the owner is no more, but how can they change it now as they are very much alive. They demand to consider the documents or else give them time.
