    The NCC Directorate Gujarat has been actively involved in employing its cadets at various towns in support of Civil Administration towards its fight against Covid-19. Presently 637 cadets, 54 ANOs and 85 Permanent Instructors have been deployed at 20 places. All the five Group Headquarters under the Gujarat Directorate located at Ahmedabad, Rajkot, VV Nagar, Vadodara and Jamnagar have been working relentlessly while maintaining a close coordination with their units and the Directorate.  

    The officers of 21 NCC units under the Group Headquarters have been actively involved in deployment of their cadets in support of the administration. More units are likely to join in as and when requisition from the Administration is received. The Commanding officers of these units have been playing an important role in terms of maintaining a close liaison with the administration, motivation and training of cadets and ensuring that all precautions are adhered to while undertaking the tasks. 

    The teams have been mainly employed for traffic management, queue management, food distribution and in educating the locals on Covid -19 precautions. The cadets are divided into small groups and positioned at main junctions as per the requirement.

    Jamnagar group cadets have been mainly deployed at five main towns namely Jamnagar, Bhuj, Gandhidham, Porbandar and Mundra.  The deployment on Thursday  has been 143 cadets, 28 Permanent instructors and  15 ANOs under this Group. The Cadets have also been deployed in two shifts at few places.  05 NCC units have been involved under this group in support of Exercise NCC Yogdan. 

    VV Nagar Group Volunteer cadets have  been deployed at five main towns, Anand, VV Nagar, Nadiad, Mahemadabad and Himmatnagar. A total of 189 cadets, 17 Permanent Instructors and  14 ANOs have been deployed  for assisting the Civil Administration. 05 units under this Group are involved in support of the administration. At Nadiad, cadets are deployed in two shifts. 

    In Rajkot 126 volunteer cadets, 13 ANOs and 09 permanent Instructors have been deployed under the Rajkot Group. The towns covered are Rajkot, Padadhari,  Gondal,  Junagarh, Keshod and Mangrol. 02 units are involved in managing these cadets. More units are in the process to join in.

    In Vadodara 34 volunteer cadets, 03 ANOs and 05 permanent Instructors have been deployed under the Vadodara Group. The town covered are Navsari, Bharuch and Ankaleshwar city. 03 NCC units under the Group are involved in the support of Civil Administration.

    145 Volunteer Cadets, 02 GCIs, 13 ANOs and 23 permanent Instructors have been deployed under Ahmedabad group. The towns covered are Ahmedabad city, Gandhinagar and  Banaskantha. Cadets of 06 units under the group are involved in the NCC Yogdan.

    The efforts  put in by all the personnel of the NCC Directorate Gujarat has been appreciated by Civil administration at all levels and forums.
