Nvidia starts delivering latest chips to Indian partners for AI cloud infra

US-based AI chip giant Nvidia has started delivering its latest chips such as GH200 AI to Indian partners such as Tata Communications and Jio Platforms, which are building artificial intelligence (AI)-cloud infrastructure in the country.

There have been concerns over the delays in the American chip giant delivering the chips as companies race each other to bag a bigger share of the AI pie.

In September, Nvidia announced partnerships with Reliance and Tata group companies to help them develop AI-powered supercomputers, AI clouds, and generative AI applications.

Tata Communications MD and CEO AS Lakshminarayanan confirmed the development and said the company had received some chips, which were were being installed.

Hiranandani Group's data centre firm, Yotta Data Services, said it received the first tranche of 4,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) of H100 Tensor Core GPU from Nvidia in March. By the end of 2025, Yotta Data Services plans to scale its GPU stable to 32,768 units.

The GH200 Grace Hopper platform is NVIDIA's advanced computing architecture designed for AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and data analytics.
