Gathered outside superintendent office of Sayaji Hospital and shouted slogans against the government
The Nursing Association has now announced for a fight for their unresolved issues since more than a year. On Tuesday they went on indefinite strike in view of their demands. In Vadodara a large number of nursing staff gathered outside the office of the superintendent of Sayaji Hospital and shouted slogans against the government.
The association said the strike will be carried out in such a way that the patients do not face any difficulty. They are doing their duty for the last more than a year in Corona ward and government is not listening to their pleas after declared them as corona warriors. They are fighting for last 14 months for their demands but this time the strike will continue until their questions are resolved.
The leaders of the association said, on Monday they beat plates outside the superintendent's office and tried to woke them. However, the government has not taken any positive action and hence decide to go on indefinite strike from Tuesday. All the nurses joined the strike and shouted slogans against the government in view of their demands. Nurses from Jamnabai Hospital also joined the strike.
For a long time now, nurses from all over Gujarat are agitating for their demands like paying salaries on central basis, giving allowances, closing down the contract system, fill the vacancies and others.
They are protesting for 15 demands including immediate filling of vacancies, but no importance is given to the nursing staff by the government. While the other caders have their questions resolved by the government. Hence they start the strike and threaten to continue till their demands are not met.
The leaders of the association said, they will continue all the operations except the Vividh work. In the current cyclone threat they have formed teams to work inside the hospital.
Teams have been formed for that. Which will be worked out by teams. Even the nurses on duty in all the hospitals of the district have been instructed to take care of the patients under treatment.
