Winter Warning: Eastern Peripheral Expressway Sees Massive Accident Due to Thick Fog.

A major multi-vehicle accident was reported on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) near Greater Noida on Saturday morning, December 13, 2025, after dense fog severely reduced visibility across the Delhi-NCR region. The crash occurred on the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway, with several reports indicating the affected stretch was near Chakrasainpur village under the jurisdiction of the Dadri police station.

According to initial information, the accident involved a chain collision with more than a dozen vehicles, including cars and heavy trucks. The pile-up is believed to have been triggered by extremely poor visibility caused by thick fog, which made it difficult for drivers to see vehicles ahead and react in time. As a result, multiple vehicles rammed into one another, leading to extensive damage.

Several people sustained injuries in the accident. Some reports mention that a woman was among the injured. Emergency response teams, including police and medical personnel, rushed to the spot and provided immediate assistance to the victims. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment and are reported to be out of danger, although authorities are still verifying the exact number and severity of injuries.

The accident led to a massive traffic jam on the busy expressway, causing significant inconvenience to commuters during peak morning hours. Police, along with toll plaza management teams, deployed cranes and recovery vehicles to remove the damaged vehicles from the road. Traffic movement was affected for several hours before authorities managed to clear the stretch and gradually restore normal flow.

Following the incident, the police issued advisory urging motorists to exercise extreme caution while driving in foggy conditions. Drivers have been advised to reduce speed, maintain safe distances between vehicles, use fog lights where necessary, and strictly adhere to traffic rules to avoid similar accidents, as dense fog continues to affect visibility across the region during winter mornings.
