Viral Video Sparks Probe as UP Teacher Allegedly Promises to Arrange Proxy Writer for UP Board Exam for Rs.10,000

Even as the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad began its Class 10 and 12 board examinations on February 18 under claims of unprecedented transparency and strict anti-cheating measures, an on-ground investigation in Uttar Pradesh has revealed alleged attempts to manipulate the system for money.

In Agra district’s Shamshabad area, a government school came under scrutiny after reports of student impersonation surfaced. A teacher identified as Yogesh Kumar was allegedly caught on camera agreeing to arrange a proxy candidate for Rs.10,000, even accepting Rs.1,500 in advance, and claiming he could bypass identity checks by arranging a fake Aadhaar card in the student’s name.

He reportedly assured that with only two papers completed and three remaining, the impersonator could sit without raising suspicion. The probe later moved to Gorakhpur’s Khajni area, where an employee of Narayan Inter College, Dilip Pandey, allegedly promised “full help” during exams despite CCTV surveillance and voice recorders.

While he refrained from openly offering impersonation this year, he suggested discreet assistance through invigilators and even claimed he could guarantee a pass next year without the student appearing for exams, for a higher fee. Despite these recorded claims, district officials, including the DIOS, have maintained that the exams are being conducted with complete strictness and that cheating is impossible under the current monitoring system.

With responses from higher authorities still awaited, the revelations have sparked serious concerns over the gap between official assurances and alleged ground realities during the ongoing board examinations.
