In a deeply shocking incident from Jatakheda village in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district, students of a private institution, St. Angel School, were allegedly subjected to humiliating and inhuman punishment after failing to complete their homework, triggering widespread outrage among parents and villagers.

According to complaints, the children were forced to stand naked in the biting winter cold and were also made to clean the playground, sweep floors, and water plants as part of routine punishments, with parents claiming such practices had been continuing for a long time. The matter escalated after parents raised their voices, prompting protests by local villagers, Bajrang Dal activists, and social organisations outside the school premises, forcing the administration to deploy heavy police presence to control the situation.

Taking serious note of the allegations, the District Education Officer reached the school, interacted directly with the affected students, ordered an immediate inquiry, dismissed the school principal, and imposed a fine of Rs.1 lakh on the management under the School Recognition Act. The officer assured strict action against all those found guilty once the investigation report is submitted, following which the agitated parents agreed to calm down, even as the incident sparked fresh debate over child safety and the misuse of disciplinary authority in schools.
