Abused Birla, threatened Modi’: Rijiju escalates attack with inside-chamber clip.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday intensified his attack on the Congress, alleging that several party MPs abused Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and issued threats against Prime Minister Narendra Modi inside the Speaker’s chamber. Rijiju shared a video clip, claiming it shows Congress members engaging in inappropriate conduct during a recent confrontation in Parliament.

The minister accused the opposition of lowering parliamentary decorum and attempting to create chaos within the House. “This kind of behaviour inside the Speaker’s chamber is unacceptable,” Rijiju said, urging Congress leaders to apologise for what he termed “disrespectful and threatening language.”

The Congress has not immediately responded to the fresh allegations, though opposition leaders have earlier accused the government of misrepresenting events and stifling dissent. The controversy adds to rising tensions between the treasury benches and the opposition amid ongoing parliamentary disruptions.

The video shared by Rijiju has sparked political reactions, with both sides trading sharp accusations as the standoff deepens inside and outside Parliament
