India AI Summit Turns Chaotic Amid Mismanagement Allegations; Long Queues, Theft Complaints And Internet Failure Spark Outrage
The much-anticipated India AI Summit descended into chaos after visitors complained of severe mismanagement, hours-long queues, theft incidents, and poor internet connectivity at the venue. Attendees, including tech professionals, startup founders, and students, expressed frustration over overcrowding, delayed entry processes, and inadequate security arrangements that reportedly led to missing belongings.
Several participants took to social media to share images and videos of long waiting lines outside entry gates, claiming that registration counters were overwhelmed and basic logistical planning appeared inadequate for the scale of the event. Complaints of unstable Wi-Fi and network congestion further disrupted panel discussions, live demonstrations, and startup showcases — a major setback for a summit centred around artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who was associated with the event, issued an apology acknowledging the inconvenience faced by attendees. He assured that the concerns were being reviewed and that corrective measures would be implemented to prevent such disruptions in future editions. Organisers also stated that additional security and technical teams were deployed after the initial complaints surfaced.
The incident has triggered debate within the tech community about large-scale event preparedness, especially for flagship technology gatherings meant to showcase India’s digital capabilities. While sessions continued despite disruptions, the opening day’s chaos has cast a shadow over what was envisioned as a landmark AI summit.
