Bhavnagar Mega Demolition Sends Strong Message to Bootlegging Networks.

In a decisive move against organized crime and illegal liquor operations ahead of New Year’s Eve, Bhavnagar authorities in Gujarat demolished the properties of five notorious bootleggers on December 31, 2025, as part of a broader “zero-tolerance” campaign led by the district police and Municipal Corporation.

Targeting the Sardarnagar area, a known hotspot for illegal liquor dens and storage units, the operation razed both houses and temporary structures belonging to repeat offenders involved in large-scale smuggling and anti-social activities. The demolition was conducted under tight security, with teams from the Local Crime Branch (LCB) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) ensuring law-and-order stability.

Strategically timed on New Year’s Eve, when alcohol-related vigilance is highest in the dry state of Gujarat, the action aimed to dismantle criminal infrastructure and send a strong deterrent message to bootlegging networks. This crackdown follows previous “Mega Demolition” drives earlier in November and December 2025, during which over 1,500 square meters of illegal encroachments were cleared in the Akwada and Phulsar areas.

District police, under SP Nitish Pandey, have emphasized that illegal constructions used for criminal purposes will not be tolerated, and a list of hardcore criminals and bootleggers is being prepared for similar enforcement actions in the coming weeks, reinforcing Bhavnagar’s commitment to upholding law, order, and public safety.
