Death Trap on Delhi Road: Biker Falls Into Jal Board Pit, Family Flags Foul Play, Seeks Probe?
A young man’s routine ride home ended in a horrifying death on a dark, under-construction road in West Delhi’s Janakpuri, where an open Delhi Jal Board construction pit allegedly turned into a deadly trap, sparking outrage, suspicion, and a storm of unanswered questions.
Kamal, a call-centre employee with a private bank, was found dead inside the deep pit along with his motorcycle early Friday morning—nearly eight hours after he went missing—despite his family and friends searching the area through the night. While police have termed the incident an accident and claim the pit was barricaded, the victim’s family has rejected this version outright, alleging gross civic negligence, a shocking delay in police response, and even possible foul play, pointing to a suspicious timeline in which repeated searches reportedly found nothing.
The family says Kamal was in constant contact and just minutes from home when he vanished, raising the disturbing question of how his body appeared later in a spot that had already been checked.
The death has reignited anger over open construction sites and unsafe roads in the national capital, forcing Delhi Minister Ashish Sood to visit the site, call the incident deeply tragic, and warn that no official or agency will be spared if negligence or wrongdoing is established, as police now face mounting pressure to explain not just how Kamal died—but why help came too late.
