A man has been arrested in Jamalpur, Ahmedabad, for allegedly committing an unnatural act against an 8-year-old boy inside a local mosque, sending shockwaves through the area. The accused, identified as Nauman Sheikh, reportedly lured the minor to the mosque’s terrace under a false pretext while he had come there for Namaz, police said.

According to the complaint lodged at the Gaekwad Haveli Police Station, the child later informed his family about the assault, following which they immediately approached the authorities. Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered and Sheikh has been taken into custody, while a detailed investigation is underway.

Crucially, CCTV footage is being examined, which allegedly shows the accused escorting the child to the terrace and returning alone, with investigators stating that both the video evidence and medical reports will play a key role in the probe. Authorities have assured strict legal action as the case continues to unfold.
