Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the 40 CRPF jawans martyred in the Pulwama terror attack on 26/10, Tuesday morning. In his tour of three days, Shah chose to prolong it Jammu and Kashmir on Monday so that he could spend the night with CRPF troops at the martyrs memorial in Pulwama area.
"Paying homage to the brave jawans of Pulwama who were martyred in the cowardly terrorist attack of Pulwama @crpfindia by visiting the martyr's memorial today. Your dedication and supreme sacrifice for the defense of the country further strengthens our resolve to eradicate terrorism. Many salutes to the brave sacrifice." tweeted Shah on this Tuesday morning.
According to the sources, Shah arrived in Jammu and Kashmir with the entire complement of Delhi's top brass, including the director of the Intelligence Bureau, the DG of the CRPF, and Secretary R.
The home minister, according to the report, visited all locations with enthusiasm and tried to reach out to all elements of society, including young and old Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs. He, on the other hand, opted to miss all maulvi meetings.
They added that whenever Shah talked, he was clear in his beliefs and aims, and that his willingness to visit to various camps and forward positions was well received by the military.
The sources also said that "a majority of feedback he got from officials and the L-G was wrong and he also understands this".
"He wants to use both development and danda in the Valley. On celebration he is quiet but action will happen once he is back," sources said.
Shah planned to extend his tour tospend the night with CRPF soldiers at the Lethpora martyr memorial in Pulwama, to pay tribute to the 42 jawans who were killed.
While speaking to security officers on the CRPF campus, Shah stated that it was his "most important" engagement during his tour to the Union territory."I want to spend one night with you people and understand your problems."
Shah stated "we will be able to realise a peaceful Jammu and Kashmir as envisaged by Prime Minister Modi during our lifetime", the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir has much improved, and he expressed optimism.
On Monday, he offered prayers at the famed Kheer Bhawani temple in Ganderbal district, claiming that the temple possesses spiritual force that can only be sensed after visiting it. Early Monday morning, the home minister paid a visit to a temple complex set among chinars in the Tullamulla area of the central Kashmir district, according to officials.
