Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) has been extending their support from the beginning of the COVID pandemic to help sections of society affected by illness, death of family members or loss of employment. At a time when the Indian Air Force continues to provide airlifts for Oxygen and vital medical supplies, AFWWA and its Sanginis are also standing shoulder to shoulder to help the needy families in this hour of crisis.

Under this continuous effort, a total of 500 ration packets were distributed on 09 June 21 by Sanginis of AFWWA Gandhinagar, in coordination with the District Administration. In this, 250 ration packets in Sector 30 GEB Thapra, 150 ration packets in Sector 28 GTS Thapra, 32 ration packets in Sector 19 HIB School and orphanage, 08 ration packets in Sector 17 Old Age Home and 60 ration packets in Old Age Home at Pethapur were distributed among needy.

The contents of the packet were selected with an aim to meet the hardships and provide much needed help to the needy families during the second wave of Covid-19. In this difficult time, the Sanginis of the AFWWA inspired by "Har Kaam Desh Ke Naam" has made a meaningful contribution to the society on behalf of Air Force Wives Welfare Association by helping every section of the society.

AFWWA was formed on 28 October 1970 with the objective of providing assistance to the families of the deceased, retired and serving personnel of the Indian Air Force. As part of its objective, the Association has been regularly assisting civilians during natural calamities and disasters with the help of volunteer wives of Air Force personnel.
