44 Killed in 81 Truck and Dumper Accidents in Ahmedabad Over Five Years; Daytime Restrictions Flouted
An innocent 22‑year‑old youth, Mustakeem, lost his life in a tragic accident in Ahmedabad’s Juhapura area on Saturday morning, February 21. While riding his moped near Royal Akbar Tower, Mustakeem was struck from behind by a speeding dumper truck with no number plates, causing severe head injuries that led to his death on the spot.
The accident sparked widespread anger among local residents, who gathered at the scene. Investigations revealed that the dumper had no front or rear number plates, and locals expressed frustration that heavy vehicles continue to pass through congested areas like Juhapura during daytime, despite repeated complaints to authorities. Ahmedabad Traffic Police reached the site promptly and initiated a probe into the incident.
Residents are demanding stricter enforcement of traffic rules to prevent such tragedies in the future.
