Deepak Nitrite Limited (DNL) in association with Svades a well-known NGO and Deepak Foundation handed over a new toilet block to Nandesari Primary School on Thursday. The initiative is part Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Swachh Bharat Mission, a nation-wide campaign. The new toilet block aims to improve health and sanitation at the school.
The new toilet block was inaugurated in presence of various dignitaries. “It’s a privilege to be a part of this initiative to get more students access to clean functional toilets along with the other health and education programs we are running. I’m very glad that more conscientious and responsible companies and foundations are taking this into implementation. I hope to be a part of many more initiatives over the years,” said Dr Riddhi Mehta from Deepak Foundation.
DNL’s Director Finance and CFO Sanjay Upadhyay applauded the efforts of the entire team for executed the project. Svades that works in the areas of eco-restoration, sanitation, youth development was the executing agency. The project was funded by DNL and will be monitored by Deepak Foundation and Svades collectively.
“The school management had approached Deepak Foundation (DF) with the request for new toilet block in their school. The request was shared with and post discussion, the work was given to our NGO,” said Kamini Kansara, CEO Svades that has worked with DNL on implementing several CSR projects.
DNL has been carrying several CSR work in various areas. When the request from Nandesari Primary School came the company was happy to fund the project. The work was completed within four months.
