As part of NCC Ex Yogdan, the NCC Directorate Gujarat continues its efforts in employing its cadets at more locations in support of Civil Administration towards its fight against Covid-19. On Monday, a total of 410 Volunteer Cadets, 52 Permanent Instructors and 38 Associated NCC Officers were deployed at 14 main towns in Gujarat.

The teams have been mainly employed for traffic management, queue management and food distribution. In addition, the cadets have been actively involved in educating the locals on Covid-19 precautions. Prior to deployment, the cadets have undergone an exhaustive training on Covid-19.

15 Cadets of 2 Gujarat Independent Coy along with 02 ANOs and 02 Permanent Instructor staff were deployed for the first time at 10 locations in Gandhinagar town under 02 Police Stations. The cadets performed duties alongwith the police in strictly enforcing the lockdown.

In Jamnagar the Cadets are now being deployed in two shifts at Jamnagar. 48 volunteer Cadets of 8 Guj Naval unit and 27 Guj Bn along with 06 ANOs including 3 lady ANOs, and 11 Permanent Instructors were deployed across the city at 11 locations during the morning shift. 20 cadets along with 04 ANOs and 05 Permanent Instructors were deployed for queue management at ration shops at five main locations in the afternoon shift. Some of these locations of deployment are Samarpan Circle, DKV Circle, Amber Chowkdi, Amusement park, Saat Rasta Circle, Digjam Circle and Khambalia gate.

73 Cadets along with 08 Permanent Instructors, 05 ANOs and 01 officer of 6 Naval unit and 1 Coy Bhuj were deployed at East Kutch at 08 locations. They have been deployed under four police stations, Adipur, Ghandhidham A, Ghandhidham B and Anjar.

10 Volunteer Cadets 01 ANO and 02 Permanent Instructors of 5 Naval unit and I Coy (i) under Jamnagar Group were deployed in West Kutch area for the first time. These were deployed at 03 important traffic points in support of police. 06 Cadets and 01 ANOs were deployed at the 02 junctions at Mundra. 42 Cadets, 04 ANOs and 06 Permanent Instructors of 4 Guj Naval Unit under Jamnagar Group were deployed in support of the civil administration. The cadets also carried out an awareness march in Wadi area while maintaining social distancing.

The deployment at Nadiad has been increased to 96 Cadets, 06 Permanent Instructors and 06 ANOs divided into 02 shifts for assisting the Civil Administration. The Cadets have been actively involved in traffic control, queue management at banks and ATMs and also for food distribution at five main points. For the first time, 25 Volunteer Cadets, 01 ANO and 03 Permanent Instructors of 13 Bn, 4Bn and 2 CTC under VV Nagar Group were deployed at Anand and V V Nagar town. These teams were deployed at 7 places. The Cadets were seen assisting police teams enthusiastically.

12 Volunteer cadets, 02 ANOs and 02 permanent Instructors of 9 Naval unit and 20 Bn from Navsari of Vadodara group were deployed in support of police at Navsari town. The Cadets were deployed at Antalya Chowk, Das Hosp Circle, and Amalsad Naka. Cadets were also noticed helping in food distribution. These Cadets have been deployed from 12 Apr onwards.

For the first time 39 Volunteer Cadets, 03 ANOs and 03 Permanent Instructors of 8 Guj Bn were deployed at Junagarh at three main locations. In addition, 08 Cadets 01 ANO and 1 Permanent instructor was deployed at Keshod town. 7 Cadets, 01 ANO and 1 Permanent Instructor was also deployed at Mangrol town. All the Cadets were actively involved in supporting police in traffic control and providing assistance to senior citizens.

09 Cadets 01 ANO and 01 permanent Instructor of 02 Guj Bn Rajkot group have been deployed at Padadhari town (30 Km south of Rajkot). After the initial training, the Cadets were divided in three teams and deployed at three different places in support of the police.

25 Cadets, 1 ANOs 9 Permanent Instructors and 1 officer underwent orientation training at Himmatnagar. Medical checkup for 69 Cadets was conducted at Godhra and declared fit. These cadets would be deployed shortly. ADG, NCC Dte Gujarat, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu expressed his satisfaction on the progress of deployment of cadets at various locations. He also brought out all the Volunteer Cadets, ANOs and PI staff are highly motivated and ready to undertake all tasks wholeheartedly in support of the Civil administration.
