Narmada development minister Yogesh Patel request VMC to design the new water treatment plant at Nimeta

The Vadodara Municipal Corporation has planned to set up a new water treatment plant at Nimeta and plan to lay a pipeline to Vadodara. Currently the tender process is in progress for the project. Yogesh Patel Minister of State, Narmada, Urban Housing

has sent a letter to the Commissioner of Vadodara Municipal Corporation to change the provisions of existing tender conditions where the plant is designed by the contractor. He request that VMC shall design the plant on its own and then give it to the contractors. He also request to make appropriate changes and start a fresh tender process accordingly in this project. He said in the letter that the water treatment plant set up at Nimeta seven years ago under the same provision (design by contractor) has caused problem in the past. Due to this people of east and south areas received polluted water for nearly a year. Therefore it’s necessary to take precautionary steps while setting up the new plant. He request the VMC to make design of the plant on their own and then give it to the contractor. Also they issue fresh tender process after make the changes accordingly
