A team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), on Friday morning, conducted raids at homes of Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant’s former aide Samuel Miranda.
Miranda has been detained by the NCB for further questioning, sources reported.
Earlier this week, the NCB had arrested drug peddlers Abdul Basit Parihar and Zaid Vilatra from Mumbai, in connection with the case. The NCB has drawn links between these drug dealers, Showik and Mirdanda, according to reports.
On August 26, the NCB filed a criminal case against Rhea Chakraborty and others for their alleged dealings in banned drugs. They said various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) have been pressed in the complaint filed by the federal anti-drugs agency on an official reference received from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Rhea has been questioned by the ED about these suspect drug deals. Her lawyer Satish Maneshinde had vehemently denied the allegations.
Rhea and her family members are being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate in connection to Sushant Singh’s untimely death on June 12.
An FIR was lodged in Patna based on Sushant’s father’s complaint that accused Rhea and her family of abetting the actor’s suicide and misappropriating his money.
