Gujarat Gas Ltd.(GGL) signed a MoU with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. to promote the adoption of Tri- Generation Technology to its industrial and commercial customers. It will be first of its kind in Gujarat applicable inoperational areas of GGL.

Under this MoU, GGL will ensure uninterrupted supply of natural gas to the feasible project under its jurisdiction and EESL will manage equipment on build, operate and transfer basis (BOT) at the customer’s location. The MoU aims at boosting the consumption of natural gas in the state.

The installation of the tri-generation will help boosting energy utilisation as compared to conventional systems and will play a key role in reducing the carbon footprint and promote green energy. Customers will get benefitted by reduced overall energy costs by 35-40 per cent while ensuring reliable and uninterrupted supply of power and cooling/heating requirements.

The MoU was signed by Nitin Patil, Chief Executive Officer, GGL and Anant Shukla, who is leading Trigeninitiative from EESL. Speaking on the occasion Nitin Patil said “This pact will benefit the overall society as well as in large commercial establishments likes Hospitality, Health, Travel, Data Centres, etc. This technology will help customers in increasing the energy efficiency upto 80% vs. 40% for conventional gensets.”

GGL and EESL are confident that this move will also help the government in achieving its goal of increasing the share of natural gas in the energy mix of our country.
