Meeting of Jail Core Committee under chairmanship of District Magistrate

Discussion to conduct pending cases of under trial prisoners through video conference

A meeting of the Core Committee for Vadodara Central Jail was held at the Collectorate under the chairmanship of District Magistrate and Collector Shalini Agarwal. During the meeting discussions were held in detail about how to expedite the disposal of pending cases of Vadodara Central Jail through video conferencing with the noble intention of speedy disposal of under trial inmates and speedy justice to them.

The meeting was chaired by Principal District and Sessions Judge M.R. Mengade, Assistant Commissioner of Police Megha Tewar and Deputy Superintendent of Police PR Patel were present and participated in the discussion. The meeting was coordinated by the Superintendent of Central Jail, Baldev Singh Vaghela.

According to Baldev Vaghela, there are currently 615 undertrials inmates in Vadodara Central Jail and the proceedings have been suspended due to lockdown.
