VMC teams swung into action on Saturday to check the Covid 19 guidelines being followed by malls, business establishments, shopkeepers and others in various parts of the city. The team sealed shops, malls, stores which are not following the guidelines and send a strict message to everyone.
The teams along with police started checking in the different areas known for crowding and frequently visited. The administration gives a clear message for everyone to follow the Covid guidelines strictly to stop transition of the virus.
According to Dr. Vinod Rao, Officer on Special Duty and Education Secretary, the
Eva Mall in Manjalpur area has been sealed for three days as a disciplinary action by special teams for violating the Covid Guideline. Another mall at Harni area was sealed by the flying squad. The teams have taken disciplinary action against Gorwa vegetable market, areas of ward no. 5 and 9 as well as gift item shop in Karelibaug, pan, cold drink shop, door mat shop and others.
Expressing the feeling that next 15 days are very important in preventing the spread of Covid infection, District Collector Shalini Agarwal said that a joint meeting held on Friday in this regard has formulated a strategy for the city district. Accordingly, the rules including observing masks and social distance in the rural areas of the district will be strictly followed.
Along with this, efforts will be made to increase public awareness in this matter and to cultivate self-discipline in its observance. She has requested that in the interest of health, people should cooperate by following these rules themselves.
