Bring alive a regal festival to coincide with the inaugural heritage garba festival hosted by the Baroda royal family.

Lukshmi Vilas Palace, home to the Gaekwad royal family and one of the most splendorous palaces in the world joins hands with Royal Fables, India’s only authentic platform for regal, royal India to host a three-day exposition to celebrate craft, cuisine and culture of Princely India.

Hosted under the patronage of Maharani Radhikaraje Gaekwad of Baroda, the exposition coincides with the first ever heritage garba hosted by the royal family at Navlakhi Gardens. Royal Fables, Baroda presents handcraft products made in 35 palace studios of India, besides hand picked heritage brands.

“This is the first time royal families are coming together in Baroda to present their craft and culture to the people of Baroda. Indian Princely families have prided in their patronage of the indigenous, local crafts of their region. My family symbolizes this connect with art and I am thrilled to welcome this delegation to the palace,” opines Maharani Radhikaraje.

The 3 day long exposition has been inaugurated by Maharani Radhikaraje Gaekwad of Baroda, Yuvrani Meenal Singh Deo of Dhenkanal, Nawab Kazim Ali Khan of Rampur, Raj Kanwarani Gitanjali Shah of Tehri-Garhwal, Rani Jaykirti Singh of Baria, Kunwar Yaduveer Singh Bera, Namrata Singh, Baisa Pushpita Singh Kharwa, Designer Digvijay Singh, Pooja Sheth- Founder of Limelight Handcrafted Diamonds, Renuka Aggarwal- Founder of Saugaat by Bikanervala, Dharmesh Shah- Founder of Sujhal Jewels and Muse and Saud Ahmad from Mehraab.

“Royal Fables is striving hard to keep the legacy of royal India alive. It is dedicated to supporting young scions born to Princely families who are reviving the culture of Palace studios”, said Anshu Khanna, Founder Royal Fables and recipient of Nari Shakti Puraskar 2018, the highest civilian honour for women in India.

Touching upon every element of regal life, the exposition will be held over three power-packed days. Flagging off on 3rd October with a couture show held at the Darbar Hall of the palace, Royal Fables presents intricately embroidered ensembles by Mehraab and destination jewellery by Sujhal. Mehraab a couture brand by Arun Ahuja, Arti Talwar, John Marya and Anu Seth, features stunning collections that centre around the couturier’s mastery over rare embroideries like petit point, convent embroidery, gara and Kashmiri aari work. Sujhal based out of Ahmadabad crafts legacy jewels in precious stones and silver inspired by the Raj era. The evening will also have Benchmark Cars showcase iconic Mercedes Benz cars.

Inauguration of the exposition will be on the 4th morning by Rajmata Subhanginiraje Gaekwad of Baroda. The morning will witness the launch of Saugaat, a luxury gifting boutique founded by Renuka and Sanjay Aggarwal, scions of the legendary Bikanervala family. At Saugaat gifting transcends to art as a collaborated team of experts come out with a line of mithais that are beyond delicious and cordon bleu luxurious. Each one of the recipes is a blend of Indian and international flavours.

“Indian mithais resonate with food lovers across the globe. Indians love their festivals and link them with sweets and savouries gifted to them by their loved ones. Saugaat is our attempt to make gifting a truly personal experience. We believe to elevate the level of festive and wedding gifts for people with taste. We hope you love gifting Saugaat as much as we loved creating it for you,” says Renuka Aggarwal.

The launch will be held over a coffee morning presented by Manuu Mansheet and prepared by celebrity patisserie chef Sahil Mehta, both experts behind Saugaat’s fabled sweets.

A light and sound show ‘Soul of the Navlakhi Vav’ will held on the same day in the evening. The evening hosted by Maharaja Samarjit Sinh and Maharani Radhikaraje Gaekwad of Baroda will highlight the magical beauty of lukshmi Vilas Palace.

The finale event on 5th evening will be held in associaiton with Limelight Diamonds. A panel discussion on jewellery chaired by Preeta Agarwal and held with Pooja Sheth, Founder Limelight Diamonds, Radhikaraje and Annou Singhvi, will look at the world of jewels, old and new. India’s leading CVD diamond jewellery brand, Limelight showcases lab-grown diamonds that are truly eco-friendly and help save the ecology.

Limelight will join hands with Rosetree by Kanwarani Kamini Singh and Rajkumari Chandni Singh of Seohara to stage a fashion show with royal scions walking in Rosetree ensembles and Limelight diamonds.

Pooja Sheth says, “Diamonds have long been a part of human history, one of the most brilliant discovery of mankind, as it can be rightly called so! It has been a prolonged pursuit for us to craft wonders that are as pure as nature but perfected by innovation, to create the most beautiful and unique diamonds”.

The festivities will culminate at Navlakhi gardens where guests from across the globe will witness the beauty of garba and take home a fabled memory to be cherished forever.
