Local Residents raised protest after Desai hospital in Vadodara started taking Covid patients

Local Residents raised protest after Desai hospital in Raopura area of Vadodara started taking Covid patients. They objected about the corporation decision to give permission to hospital in residential area to admit Covid patients. They created lots of ruckus outside the hospital and later dispersed after police arrived at the scene.

The protest begins after Desai hospital in Raopura area started admitting Covid patients. Local raised objections and gathered outside the hospital. They also created ruckus and asked the doctor not to admit Corona positive patients.

One of the local said, Our protest is against starting the covid centre at the hospital. Atleast they should understand the situation and think about children and 90% senior citizens living here. They don’t protest against admitting and treatment of other patients and object about Covid patients here.

Dr. Sujit Desai said, they tried to calm the situation but not succeed. They asked them to give an application in the VMC and even the hospital also approached the corporation regarding the matter. If Corporation says they will not treat Covid patients.

Police also arrived at the spot and calm the situation.
