With an improvement in the weather, the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway partially reopened for light motor vehicles (LMVs) on Friday morning, traffic authorities said.

Advertisment

An official told Greater Kashmir that passenger vehicles were allowed to ply from both sides. He said the HMVs will be allowed shortly.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, as overtaking will cause congestion and invite action under MV Act, said the official.

The SSG Road/Bhaderwah-Chamba Road/Mughal road/ Sinthan road remain closed.

The highway was blocked Thursday evening for traffic movement following rain and snowfall in Ramban-Banihal-Qazigund sectors.
