In a bid to boost regional connectivity and foster tourism, a new helicopter service was inaugurated on Tuesday, linking the picturesque hill towns of Almora and Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand.

This service, launched by Heritage Aviation, will offer daily operations with two 10-minute flights, drastically reducing the travel time compared to the long road journey.

The initiative aims to provide a faster, more convenient mode of transportation for both locals and tourists, with a one-way fare set at Rs 2,500.

By cutting down travel time from several hours to just a few minutes, this helicopter service is expected to significantly improve access to these scenic towns, attracting more visitors and boosting the local economy.

On its inaugural flight, the helicopter successfully carried a passenger from Almora to Pithoragarh and made a return trip with three additional passengers.

This launch marks a key development in the region’s transportation infrastructure, offering a modern solution to the challenges posed by Uttarakhand’s hilly terrain.

As more travelers seek quick and easy access to the state’s popular destinations, the service is poised to play a crucial role in enhancing tourism while supporting the region’s growth and connectivity.

The company plans to further expand its network in the future by introducing additional routes, including Dehradun to Bageshwar, Haldwani to Bageshwar, and Dehradun to Nainital.
