In yet another shocking suicide, a married couple jumped in front of a moving train near Vishwamitri railway station in the city on Tuesday evening and ended their lives.

This is one of the busiest routes for trains and the police are still trying to ascertain the exact reason behind the couple’s extreme step.

The railway police could identify the bodies late on Tuesday night after the family members of the deceased began searching for them.

While the man was identified as 24-year-old Suraj Pandey who married Nilu Pandey, 23, just two years ago.

The duo left their home in Khodiyarnagar on Tuesday evening and reached the Vishwamitri railway station.

After spending some time on the platform, the couple decided to jump in front of a goods train.

The police are investigating if the step was due to some domestic reasons including family disputes or for other reasons. Pandey was a trader who sold cleaning products.

Only a fortnight ago, another couple from the city killed their minor son before committing suicide on Waghodia Road. Pritesh Mistry and wife Sneha ended their lives before killing their seven-year-old son at their residence.

The police said that Mistry was under debt which may have driven them to take the extreme step.
