In a gesture of appreciation, the Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) is organizing special events for migrant workers in the construction industry, primarily from India, Bangladesh, and China, acknowledging their significant role in supporting Singapore’s thriving economy during the festive season of sharing and gratitude.

Plans are underway to offer complimentary open-top bus rides along Orchard Road for migrant workers, allowing them to experience the festive lights and decorations as tourists would.

The Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) is collaborating with agencies and NGOs to bring shift-based workers together for this annual celebration, which drew 4.1 million visitors last year. This year, ORBA anticipates between four and five million attendees.

Mark Shaw, ORBA Chairman, shared that construction workers, healthcare professionals, and underprivileged or differently-abled individuals will receive special experiences during the three-month festival, running from November 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.

The open-roof buses will escort these special guests down Orchard Road, with additional treats awaiting them at the Christmas Village, continuing a beloved tradition.

These events bolster Orchard Road’s reputation as a prime lifestyle destination, delivering diverse, immersive, and memorable experiences tailored to a wide array of visitors.
