Goa to get ₹1,330 crore worth of public projects including a ropeway

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the three-day event, India Energy Week, in Goa on February 6 (Tuesday). He will also unveil over ₹1,330 crore worth of public projects.
These projects include the inauguration of a permanent campus at the National Institute of Technology in Ponda, a new campus of the National Institute of Watersports in Panaji.

The foundation stone will be laid for a new passenger ropeway connecting Panaji and Reis Magos, which is currently a 7-kilometre long drive that takes 25 minutes by car, according to Google Maps.
The PM will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of a 100 million litres a day water treatment plant in South Goa, and distribute appointment orders to 1,930 people who applied for government jobs under the Rozgar Mela.
The 35-year old Institute of Petroleum Safety, Health and Environment Management (IPSHEM) with an active campus since 1997 will be transformed into the ONGC Sea Survival Centre, reportedly, at a cost of ₹250 crore.
