The most recent and notable addition remains the new Airbus A350 that has been inducted by Air India.

Well, aviation watchdog DGCA has revealed that domestic airlines have inducted 133 aircraft in the year 2023, which is a hike of 51 per cent on an annual basis.

The increment in fleet size is happening as airlines are registering new and increased demand for routes and passengers. Interestingly, out of these 133 planes, only 21 are wet leased.

In a release, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said that in line with the anticipated increase in aircraft inductions in 2024, it is "suitably enhancing its regulatory capacity to speed up further the regulatory approvals related to the induction of aircraft".
