Crispy Nuggets with a piping hot cup of tea is the ultimate combo one could enjoy during monsoons. With just a handful of ingredients like poha, potato, onion, capsicum, peas and a handful of spices, you can easily make some delicious nuggets at home.
No need to deep-fry and make the snack extra-oily, as these nuggets can be prepared with just 2 tbsp of oil. To make the nuggets crispier, we have dipped them in a cornflour slurry and coated them in breadcrumbs.
If you don't have breadcrumbs, you can skip this step as well. To add a touch of cheesiness to the nuggets, stuff a small piece of cheese in the nuggets before frying them.

Ingredients of Poha Nuggets

1 cup pressed rice
1/2 onion
1/4 cup boiled peas
1/2 tablespoon cumin powder
1/4 tablespoon red chilli powder
salt as required
2 tablespoon corn flour
2 tablespoon virgin olive oil
2 large boiled potato
1/2 capsicum (green pepper)
2 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tablespoon dry mango powder
1/4 tablespoon garam masala powder
2 tablespoon rice flour
4 tablespoon bread crumbs
How to make Poha Nuggets
Step 1 Wash the poha
Wash the poha and soak it for a minute. Now drain the excess water and collect the poha in a bowl.
Step 2 Mash the poha with potato
Add boiled potatoes to a bowl and mash them. Add soaked poha to it and mix well using your hands.
Step 3 Add veggies
Now add finely chopped onion, capsicum, peas and coriander leaves to it. Again give a good mix.
Step 4 Add the spices
Now add cumin powder, dry mango powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and salt. Also add rice flour. Use your hands to mix and make a dough.
Step 5 Make nuggets
Take small portions from the dough and roll them between your hands to make cylindrical nuggets.
Step 6 Prepare cornflour slurry
In a bowl, add cornflour slurry along with 1/4 cup of water. Mix to make a slurry.
Step 7 Coat the nuggets
Toss the nuggets in the slurry to coat well and then roll them in the breadcrumbs to coat from all sides.
Step 8 Shallow fry
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Place the nuggets in the pan and shallow fry until golden brown in colour.
Step 9 Ready to be served
Your Poha Nuggets are now ready to be served. Pair up with ketchup and mint chutney. Enjoy!
