If you too are a halwa lover, then here is a recipe that you need to bookmark for sure. You just require 3 simple ingredients to prepare this dish- sugar, desi ghee and wheat flour.

Make sugar mixture

Add 2 cups of sugar to a pan.

Now add 1 cup of sugar to it.

Give a mix and bring to a boil.

You need not bring it to a one-string or two-string consistency.

Just make sure the sugar is completely dissolved in the water.

Once done, switch off the flame and set it aside for later usage.

Roast the flour

Now add 1 cup of ghee to a kadhai and let it melt.

Once hot enough, add 1 cup of atta (wheat flour) to it.

Stir continuously to ensure that the atta is mixed well with the ghee.

There should be no lumps in the mixture.

Keep stirring until the atta is roasted well and the slurry turns golden-brown in colour.

Don't stop stirring, otherwise, the flour might burn.

Once roasted well, you'll get a thick mixture of a brownish colour.

Final mixing

Now pour the sugar-water mixture in the kadhai and stir well.

Be careful while pouring the water, as it might cause a splutter.

Stir continuously to mix everything together.

Now cook the halwa for about 6-8 minutes. Stir a few times in between.

Once the halwa leaves the sides of the pan, it is ready.
