The dental, orthopedic and anesthesia departments of the Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara further strengthen its treatment facilities after allotted medical equipments from the MLA grant of Seema Mohile. Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi will unveil the medical equipment on Thursday during his first visit to the city after joined office. Medical Superintendent Dr. Ranjan Krishna Aiyar said, "We will take care to make the best use of these equipments in the treatment of patients."

He said the dental department would get four new automatic dental chairs from the MLA grant. At present the department has seven old chairs and now the number has increased to 11 which helps the doctors to give appointments quickly and reducing the waiting time. This has increased the capacity of dentistry department and patients will get treatment fast and quick.

This dental chair is very useful in the treatment of patients with jaw mucormycosis and patients with oral cancer as well as in dental procedures. It is also of key importance in testing, diagnosing, treating dental OPD, dental, oral and jaw diseases and filling silver and cement in teeth, root canals, mouth and jaw. The dental department along with the ENT department of Sayaji Hospital has made significant contributions in the treatment and surgery of the jaw Mucormycosis and has built and is still building Obturators for more than 50 patients to fill the cavities caused by the treatment.

In the orthopedic department small to large 30 to 40 bone surgeries are performed every day, in which an image intensifier is very useful. With the help of this machine X-rays can be easily taken during the ongoing surgery and can help rods / plates in the fracture adjusted very precisely. It will be useful in the surgery of covid positive patients.

The medical equipments also includes a multi para monitor with etco 2 for the anesthesia department. This device is very useful in the treatment of patients with covid and other patients and can accurately monitor the heart and lung movements of patients after and during the operation.

All these equipments will be unveiled by Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi along with MLAs, MPs and dignitaries on October 7.

Dr. Aiyar said that the medical equipment facility, valued at about Rs. 22 lakhs, under the MLA grant of Seemaben Mohile would enhance the covid and non-covid treatment and surgery readiness of Sayaji Hospital and would be very helpful for a large number of patients.
