State health minister Ma Subramanian on Saturday inaugurated an urban public health laboratory, a block public health unit, and seven sub health centres constructed at a cost of 2.6 crore in Dindigul district.

The urban public health laboratory established at 22 lakh is at Mariyanathapuram in Dindigul. 

The block public health unit at Eriyodu was constructed at 50 lakh. 

The seven sub health centres are at Mariyanathapuram, Neikkarapatti, and Manakattur, Kamalapuram, Ayyalur North, Ayyalur South, and Morpatti.

Rural development minister I Periyasamy, and food and civil supplies minister R Sakkarapani and collector M N Poongodi were present.

The minister highlighted that the state govt has been actively taking steps to increase health infrastructure and upgrade existing facilities for the welfare of the public across the state. 

He noted that 8,201 people have been benefitted under the Innuyir Kappom scheme in the district and 1.49 lakh people under the Kalaignar Varumun Kappom scheme.
