India registered 11,451 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 5.5 per cent higher than yesterday, according to the Union Health Ministry data released on Monday. The total caseload now stands at 3,43,66,987.
The top five states that have reported the maximum Covid-19 cases are Kerala (7,124 cases), Maharashtra (892), Tamil Nadu (850), West Bengal (723) and Andhra Pradesh (320). These five states account for 86.52 per cent of the new cases. Kerala alone is responsible for 62.21 per cent of the new Covid-19 cases.
The cumulative death count increased to 4,61,057 after 266 fatalities were reported in the country in the last 24 hours due to Covid-19. Maximum casualties were reported in Kerala (201), followed by Maharashtra with 16 daily deaths.
A total of 13,204 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,37,63,104 across the country. India's recovery rate now stands at 98.24 per cent.
India's active caseload now stands at 1,42,826. In the last 24 hours, active cases declined by 2,019.
India has administered a total of 23,84,096 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally to 1,08,47,23,042. A total of 8,70,058 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
