India logs 2.85 lakh Covid-19 cases, positivity rate at 16.16%

India on Wednesday recorded 2,85,914 new Covid-19 cases and 665 deaths in the last 24 hours, a slight increase from yesterday. The active caseload currently stands at 22,23,018.

The daily positivity rate rose marginally to 16.16 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was 17.33%.

With 2,99,073 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries rose to 3,73,70,971 taking the recovery rate to 93.23%. As many as 17,69,745 Covid tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, a total of 72.05 cr tests conducted so far.

On Tuesday, India had registered 2,55,874 new Covid cases. On Tuesday, India witnessed a decline of 50,190 cases with a daily positivity rate of 15.52 per cent. India crossed the 3-lakh mark on January 20 with a single-day spike of 3,17,532 cases.
