Coronavirus latest news: The number of people getting infected from the new strain of Coronavirus has gone up across India.

According to news agency ANI, the health ministry sources say that so far, India has registered 69 confirmed cases of JN.1 variant of Covid-19.

Out of these, the maximum cases have been reported from Karnataka. As India and other nations see a worrying trend of upsurge in coronavirus cases

A 51-year-old woman, who had tested covid positive, died at a Visakhapatnam hospital on Tuesday.

The medical officials, however, said that the woman did not die of coronavirus alone as she had some pre-existing disease. Identified as B Somakala, the woman was admitted at the hospital with multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, the officials said.

Meanwhile, the number of JN.1 cases have gone up across India. According to the latest reports, Karnataka has 34 cases of the sub-variant, Goa has 14, Kerala has 6 cases, Maharashtra has 9, while Telangana has 2 and Tamil Nadu has 4 confirmed cases of the new Covid variant.

 Amid massive influx of tourists, Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday issued new Covid advisory. Anyone experiencing cold, cough, sore throat and fever has been advised to take the RTPCR test immediately.

In other development, the US CDC cautions that a potential surge in illnesses during the winter may result from a combination of flu, COVID-19, and holiday gatherings.
