KKM Kheda aim to produce good sportsmen from grassroot level

Provide quality education healthcare facilities and enhance livelihood

Kapadwani Kelavani Mandal (KKM) is on a mission to produce good sportsmen who can represent the state and country at the international level and compete with world class athletes. The mandal is also providing quality education and develop healthcare facilities in the districts of Kheda and Anand.

KKM partners with Sports Authority of Gujarat to establish District Level Sports School (DLSS) of Kheda. Under its PPP model each district is assigned at least one sports school aims to provide all the facility for sports and education to potential children. At present there are 81 students (including boys and girls) are enrolled in the DLSS Kheda.

The mandal started Sports Outreach Programme to support the DLSS and to spread awareness. They also recruited Khel Mitra with having sports background to visit surrounding schools.

“Presently we have Badminton, TT and Football in our sports school and enrol the students from 11 years of age and above. The aim is to identify the talents at the very grassroot level and then send them to SAG academies for further grooming to compete at national and international level. We provide free education to the students at our school and aim to admit 300 students in next three years,” said Anant Shah Secretary KKM.

Established in 1940 KKM is Guidestarlndia Gold certified organization for its transparency and accountabilities. It started its journey by providing schools to impart swadeshi education in the surrounding and gradually added granted schools and colleges to create opportunities for locals. From year 2000 KKM added English medium pre-primary and primary school and gradually Gujarati Medium pre -primary and primary added.

KKM directly manages 13 educational institutes varying from pre primary to post graduation level. There are both granted and self financed institutes and there are also Gujarati and English Medium schools. KKM initiated direct intervention projects in sports and vocational skills as well.

At present approx 7000 students are registered and more than 250 staff members are working with KKM institutes. There is a scholarship cell to mobilize financial aids for students. KKM has recently created Cultural center to provide opportunity for performing and fine arts training.

KKM, at present, working on four areas of Education, Mother and Child Healthcare, Sports and Vocational Skill Building.

KKM started science outreach projects through Agastya International Foundation in 2013. At present there are three Mobile lab, 14 lab on bike, one science center and 25 community learning centers. Objective of these projects are to develop confidence, curiosity and creativity in children through hands on science practical.

KKM partnered with Kaivalya Education Foundation for District Transformation Program from 2017. It aims to strengthen education system by training and facilitating CRC/BRC and government officials for better learning outcomes in government schools. It covers whole thda district including 1300 schools.

KKM partnered with Tribhuvandas Foundation [TF) to improve mother and child health care facilities in two districts [Kheda and Anand). KKM supports TF to improve the infrastructure and to strengthen village health workers network. TF is working through 5 centers and reaching to more than 800 villages.

KKM established computer center in 1991 to impart short term courses. At present center is affiliated to provide certificate for computer courses. KKM is also a training partner for PMKVY.
