Voluntarily do ten minutes of pranayama every day and honestly note in the WhatsApp group

Corona is such a crisis that it makes the police officers and jawans work day and night continuosly without getting much break. It is imperative to work between constant stress and mental stress to save oneself from Corona and also save the family. The time also tests the physical and mental health of policemen and push them to the limit. In such situation Yoga and Pranayama have been recommended in Indian culture to take care of both physical and mental health and help them relieving the stress.

Divya Mishra, Superintendent of Police, Kheda District, implemented the project Yoga Prahari in May to keep the police officers physically fit and strong by using Yoga and Pranayama. It was voluntary for the police officers to join and maintaining mutual trust was the core element of this project.

The police officers involved in the project had to do 10 minutes Yoga and Pranayam every day whenever gets time and take notes every day in a specially formed WhatsApp group. One had to join it of his own free will, do Pranayama for only ten minutes every day, no pressure to do, no evidence to upload and just to do this sadhana by their own and put it in the group.

The Superintendent of Police himself joined and in the first phase of about 21 days, 4 other officers including him did yoga and pranayama without missing a single day. 12 officers also did this sadhana for more than 75 per cent of the days.

Following the success of the first phase, the yoga project is now being implemented in the Kheda district police force for the entire month of June. Now the jawans also joined along with the officers. With around 30 police officers, about 350 jawans of different cadres are becoming Yoga Praharis, taking time out of their busy schedule and doing ten minutes of voluntary yoga practice every day. And what could be a better option than regular yoga practice to stay fit and hit.
