Chief Electoral Officer give instructions through video conference
The Election Commission of India has announced to hold elections for 147 Karjan Assembly seats in Vadodara district. In view of that Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Dr. S. Muralikrishna had a video conference with Vadodara District Collector Shalini Agarwal on Wednesday.
He gave detailed guidance on the code of conduct applicable in the assembly constituency and touching the entire district in the context of Karjan by-election and requested that it be strictly and accurately implemented.
He highlighted various aspects of the electoral vigilance of the Election Commission of India regarding the conduct of elections and made special requests to see to it. He mentioned about setting up the electoral system right from acceptance of forms to voting and counting process.
The District Collector instructed the officers involved in the planning of the elections to ensure that these instructions are followed at every stage. The meeting was attended by Deputy District Election Officer RP Joshi, Election Officer and Province Officer of Karjan seat, Assistant Returning Officer and Mamlatdar.
