In the run-up to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections next year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch a 'Jan Vishwas Yatra' starting Sunday in six locations across the state (December 19, 2021).

Top party leaders, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and senior union ministers, will kick off the Yatras. Bijnor, Mathura, Jhansi, Ghazipur, Ambedkar Nagar, and Ballia will be the starting points for the yatras.

From Ambedkar Nagar, BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda will launch the Jan Vishwas Yatra. The second yatra will begin in Mathura and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will lead the third Yatra, which will start in Jhansi and end in Kanpur.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the fourth yatra, which will begin at Bidurkoti, Bijnor. It will come to an end at Rampur. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, would begin the fifth voyage at Ballia and end in Basti.

Union Minister and Amethi MP Smriti Irani will kick off the sixth yatra. The yatra would begin in Ghazipur and end in Amethi, her home constituency. Early next year, Uttar Pradesh will hold Assembly elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 312 seats out of the 403-seat Uttar Pradesh Assembly in 2017, while the Samajwadi Party (SP) gained 47, the Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) got 19, and the Congress only managed to win seven seats. Other candidates snatched up the remaining seats.
