Home Minister Amit Shah today launched Amrit Kalash Yatra in New Delhi. It was organised as part of Meri Maati Mera Desh programme.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, in the last 75 years, India got many achievements, we have reached the Moon and will also reach near the Sun.
He said, we have to build an India that progresses in every sector in the world.
The Minister said, through the program Mera Maati Mera Desh event, every family, every person, every citizen, everyone can contribute to make India a great nation.
He said, seven thousand 500 pots with soil or grains collected from every household, ward and village will reach New Delhi between 28th and 30th of October.
Amit Shah said the Prime Minister will put soil from these Amrit Kalash in the Amrit Vatika created at Delhi.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new vision to remember the freedom fighters through this program.
He said, freedom fighters gave sacrifice for the independence of the country and citizens have to give contribution to make a developed India.
Anurag Singh Thakur said, Crores of Indians celebrated Azadi Mahotsav and the new event will connect the youth to the roots to build a new India.
He said, Meri Maati Mera Desh is not a mere programme is a movement to immortalise the contribution of unsung heroes of the freedom struggle.
Ministers of State for Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal and Meenakshi Lekhi and Culture Secretary Govind Mohan were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Mr Shah launched Mitti Anthem written by Nilesh Mishra and composed by Bickram Ghosh.
