Param Bir Singh, a former Mumbai Police Commissioner and top IPS officer, is expected to be suspended today for "indiscipline and other irregularities," according to sources.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has signed the suspension file, according to sources in the Chief Minister's Office, and the order is expected to be announced today.

The Maharashtra government has accepted the report on Param Bir Singh written by IAS officer Debashish Chakraborty. Singh was investigated by Chakraborty for violating the All India Civil Service Rules.

For administrative errors, the Maharashtra Home department conducted a departmental probe into Param Bir Singh.

Param Bir Singh was previously suspended for "indiscipline and other irregularities," according to Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil.

"We're in the process of taking legal action against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh for his indiscipline and other irregularities. The process for his suspension is also underway," Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse said.
