Jammu and Kashmir, the 3rd Tourism Working Group Meeting under India's G20 presidency will begin today in Srinagar.
A side event on Film Tourism is scheduled to be held later this afternoon while the inaugural session of the Working Group Meeting will be held tomorrow.
The meeting will highlight the tourism potential and cultural richness of the region.
Akashvani correspondent reports, Srinagar is ready to host 3rd Tourism Working Group Meeting as part of India's G20 presidency.
The meeting will provide the people of the valley an opportunity to showcase its rich culture and tradition to the world.
The meeting scheduled to begin today will be deliberating on five interconnected priority areas which include Green Tourism, Digitalization, Skills, Tourism MSMEs and destinations.
It is expected that the meeting will focus on finalizing two key deliverables which include a roadmap for tourism as a vehicle for achieving sustainable development goals and G20 Tourism Minister’s Declarations.
Besides the main events, there will be several side events on Film Tourism for Economic Growth, Ecotourism and Cultural preservation.
While welcoming the delegates, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, has said that this event will be a great opportunity for the visiting delegates to experience the priceless culture, cuisines and warm hospitality of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
